Rep. Skyler Rude urges approval of Amendment 546 to the 23-25 House operating budget addressing funding for K-12 learning loss
Rep. Skyler Rude, R-Walla Walla, ranking Republican on the House Education Committee, urged the state House of Representatives to adopt his Amendment 546 to the 23-25 House operating budget (Senate Bill 5187) to address the K-12 learning loss experienced because of the pandemic school closures. His amendment would have extended learning for all students performing below math and English standards, provided higher special education funding, and provided grants for high-quality tutoring. His amendment failed.
